Oh yes, desperately in agreement.

Hello all,
Yes, I was thinking too.
Rather than engaging in extensive discussions on issues of collaboration-tools, management, politics, our specific contributions (who is the biggest expert on this or that topic?) I myself would rather start thinking about our future meeting in the flesh. I know that this meeting is very far away but I would like to think that it could be great to have this list as a prep to this future meeting.
I am from an academic background and the way people very often meet at conferences is cold and impersonal and non-committal and ego-driven and mono-cultural and very serious and ultimately boring. I really hope that we can make a different kind of atmposhere happening by looking into the hows of exchanging information, experimenting a bit with the forms of presentation, unusual gestures, dresses, genders, cultural backgrounds are important, not only the great works and philosophies we have already created with our beautiful tools.
Looking forward,....
Katrien
