Yes, Alan Jennifer Julu Sondheim, me too - because _we_ were told to
_avoid_ the panel format in our submissions! But this:

On the Conference panel, I am thinking of a position paper/statement of about 10 minutes.

Seem all very traditionally organised. I'm sure it's not the case that
there is a hierarchy at such a co-operatively incline conf. in which
those at the 'top' are asked to give the old-style 'keynotes' and those
further down must grapple with the new, non-hierarchical styles of
organisation for the sake of form. not only would that not be what some
people in the uk call 'cricket', it would also be rather odd, in such an
enviroment.
I'm sure I'm missing something, as usual, however ;-) Anyone care to
adjust my orientation?
