SALVE.
to briefly introduce myself, i think it's best to give a short description in the works i did in the field of open collaboratives.
i am a student at bauhaus university weimar, and in one of my early projects i developed -together with hannes niepold- cointel. we established a non-linear cooperative comic-jam on an internet platform, where anyone can contribute to the on-growing comic rhizome at the ends of a branch. thus, who is the spectator in one moment, is the author in the next one. by reducing drawing to simple b&w lines and renouncing lots of colors, written text and tricky interfaces (that was as well on technical reasons), we had the effect to have little bandwidth consumption and open acessibility to any culture group. those further interested i'd refer to our info-page http://www.cointel.de/doku. (only in german, sorry :( )
another project is radiomatic/streaps. that one we developed in a collaboration of villa arson/nice and the experimental radio in weimar. it's aim is again to use non-verbal communication techniques, here basically audio-streams. those you can freely upload to our relaying server at radiostudio.org where they get mixed through an internet-controlled server-side software and the resulting "mainstream" is available to retrieve again. here we had (and still have) to deal with issues of data-lag in time-sesitive environments, that makes the basic need of any musical "jam" - to listen - even more important. furthermore, we tried to stick to the openness in any concern by using open-source software and giving open access to anything possible (e.g. the incoming streams, the mixer, the server, the (uhm...) sources etc.) see: http://radiostudio.org/streaps/
i think these projects should explain my background - at least to a certain degree.
basically, i always strive to get _any_ people involved successively and to have as few obstacles as possible (as i eg. consider having to "register" before using sth. kills spontaneity and free thougts)
whole lotta plumb...
