Dear Collaboration List Members,
My name is Grant Kester. I teach art history at the University of
California in San Diego. I've recently written a book on activist art
practices (Conversation Pieces: Community and Communication in Modern
Art) and am currently working on a follow-up book specifically on
collaboration (mostly of the face-to-face variety). Although I did some
writing on new technology issues awhile back (in the dark ages of
virtual reality, etc.), I'm pretty much a neophyte when it comes to
current new media/net-based work so I'm here to learn what I can. I
have a particular interest in the intersection of the discourses of
art, science and corporate investment in the contemporary university.
