ear List,
We now have a second list member unproblematically linking something
called "Stalinism" to something called "avant-garde art practice."
Given the counter-intuitive nature of this claim for anyone with a
basic knowledge of history (Stalin was, after all, responsible for
purging avant-gardist art in the USSR), it might be helpful for either
of these two individuals to provide us with some clarification. What,
precisely, do they mean by "avant garde art practice"? And how do they
define Stalinism? Perhaps some specific historical examples would help.
Best wishes,
Grant Kester
