Dear collaborators,
writing this introduction of myself, I ask what could or should be the
written differentiation in the word »collaborators« to significate, that
I adress female as well as male collaborators. In German there are
traces of different writing to follow the feminist influence as well as
collective work of groups which constitute themselves as collaborations
of different identities. I this a marginal threat in respect of the
topic »collaboration after Derrida«?
My interest in the last years circulated around the questions of
collective work in art in kombination with theoretical/conceptual
practices. My background is the founding of the collogne based group
»FrischmacherInnen« (freshmakers) in 1993. The name and logo posed a
critique of the logo-function in technocultures (so to say
prae-Naomi-Klein). An empty box with the name on it has the function of
the publication-medium. The group around that logo varied like the
principle of session in music and the events/presentations happened in
different institutions denying an identity which is fixed on one
institutional framework.
The group activities twined rhizomatically through collaborations
between political artists and political activists like »Messe 2 ok« 1995
or »Innenstadtaktionen« 1997/98 and others paralleled by the discours
about critique of the public sphere, functions of art and culture,
interculturalism, feminism, (post-) panoptism.
To this my single work connects with photography, films and
diagrammatics.
I like to contribute some texts/works about collective production an
collaboration.
Thanks for your interest.
Best
Stefan Roemer
